The brand new Moynihan Train Hall, a 486,000 sq.ft. transportation and retail complex set in the historic James A. Farley Post Office, required a custom scheduling interface to accommodate the complex grouping of terminal units throughout the property. The client needed a user-friendly, web-enabled solution that would allow for flexible zone-based control at any time of day.
🚆 Design, build, and install a BMS-integrated, custom graphic, web-enabled scheduling interface
🌐 Limited resources and middleware technologies
🔒 Remote access due to COVID restrictions
Controls employed a methodical approach to address the client's challenges:
🤝 Partnered with J2 Innovations to commission FIN for the project
🌐 Utilized FIN's web-based graphical user interface for web-based client compatibility on the OT network
📡 Deployed a BMS operational technology (OT) wireless network to support remote access during integration and transition to a closed loop on-premise network for normal operation
🔧 Installed and commissioned the solution fully remotely due to COVID restrictions
🌐 Successfully developed and implemented a custom scheduling interface fully remotely
🔒 Maintained security and minimized risk to the client throughout the project
⌛ Completed the project within a tight timeframe of 4 months
